A sunken fire pit set level with the deck, a raised spa behind it, and an infinity edge carrying the water out toward the view. This is the kind of build that comes out of sitting down and compiling a feature list before anything is dug.

These are the parts of a build that decide whether the yard gets used in February, and they are chosen at the design table rather than bolted on afterwards.
